Asia Interprise EU – China Shanxi Region – 25-28 September 2008, Taiyuan

Introduction

The EU – China Shanxi Region Partnership Project is an opportunity for 60 companies from all over Europe to meet with 140 Chinese companies. The project is co-funded by the EU, supported by UNIDO ITPO – China, and organized by the Taiyuan municipal government in partnership with six business promotion organizations across Europe.

Shanxi and its neighboring provinces produce about half of China’s coal. Traditionally, industries in this region specialize in mining, power generation, metal casting and heavy equipment manufacturing.

The project addresses higher value added production while building on the strengths of the region. Our project sectors are coal chemicals, machinery manufacturing, cleaner production, and new materials. Since cleaner production is critical for sustainable development, companies providing relevant expertise, equipment, and technology are most welcome.
